Emotional Freedom Techniques

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often referred to as “tapping,” uses psychological acupressure techniques that combine elements of cognitive and exposure therapy with acupressure points. EFT involves tapping on specific meridian points on the body while focusing on particular difficult emotions or physical sensations. The tapping helps calm the nervous system, rewire the brain’s response to stress, and promote emotional healing.

EFT addresses the energy imbalances that contribute to emotional distress, thus leading to improvements in emotional and physical health. EFT is a simple, non-invasive method that individuals can learn to use on themselves or with the guidance of a practitioner when deeper work is called for.

What does EFT involve?

During an EFT session, Christine leads her clients to tap on or press and hold specific points on their face and body with firm but gentle pressure. Tapping on these acupressure points helps to shift the energetic blockages stored in our bodies.  This process can work in silence, but more often spoken words are used to focus the mind on a particular feeling or memory. Additional techniques are used in conjunction with the basic ‘recipe’ to ensure that clients are not flooded, overwhelmed, or feeling emotionally unsafe at any time throughout the process.

After a few rounds of tapping, clients may notice trapped emotion shifting and physical pain and tension easing, leaving them feeling better. Over time, and with the support of a skilled practitioner, EFT is highly effective in addressing and processing traumatic memories, even when those memories have been buried for some time.

Who is EFT for?

EFT is suitable for anyone looking to alleviate emotional distress, manage stress, anxiety, depression, or PTSD, and improve overall emotional and physical well-being. It is particularly effective for individuals seeking alternative or complementary therapies. EFT is safe and effective as a complementary therapy with conditions that necessitate medication or pain management.

Clients who engage in EFT sessions often report immediate relief from emotional burdens, a deeper understanding of their emotional triggers, and a significant reduction in physical symptoms associated with stress, such as headaches or insomnia. EFT provides a practical tool for self-managed emotional regulation, offering a pathway to long-lasting health and wellness.

By integrating EFT into their daily routines, clients can actively take control of their emotional and mental health, leading to improved confidence, productivity, and overall quality of life.
